About Phi Sigma Rho
Phi Sigma Rho is a social sorority for women in engineering and other technical studies. It was founded on September 24th, 1984 at Purdue University by Abby McDonald and Rashmi Khanna. They had originally joined Greek Life, but due to the work load of engineering, were not able to maintain a healthy schedule. The founders chose to start the sorority to create a social environment of sisters who understood the rigor of engineering. As of today, there are 47 chapters across the U.S. sharing our the common goals of friendship, scholarship, and encouragement.
